Did I tell you I LOVE SUMMER? I love having the time to do projects and really.....anything I want to because I have TIME. :) I've been busy working on a few things this summer and to share them I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching. I don't know that I'm necessarily sharing 5 things but....hey...it's all good right?
My new color scheme for the upcoming year is black, red, and white. I love those colors and was inspired by School Girl Style to go for it! She has an awesome theme pack you'd love! I live on Pinterest and found some great ideas there too... I found some awesome paper plates from the Dollar Tree that matched my colors....What will I do with those? I plan to create a "Welcome" sign to put outside my classroom. I haven't completed that project yet so stay tuned on that one.
You can tell the colors I used last year by the caddies. My lovely friend gave me these at the end of the year. (Thanks Marianne!) The only problem was that they didn't match. Nothing a little spray paint can't fix. Just make sure you get the kind that sprays on plastic. I didn't even think to wear gloves....I looked like I'd been working on a car by the end of it. However, did you know that fingernail polish remover works like a charm?
I've only completed one. I love the red ribbon on it!
I also found an idea from 2nd grade Shenanigans that I loved.... She typed up inspirational quotes and framed them to display. The frames I bought were only $1 from the Dollar Tree, and I typed up quotes that I loved, printed, framed them and voila!
Okay so I know I am known as the crazy teacher who goes up to school over the summer. It's okay. We all have one right? Actually, I start my Gifted Endorsement this summer so I have to get my room ready early or I'd go nuts! I'm in a new room this year and it has a HUGE wall that needed to be covered. It's actually one of those walls that collapses if you want to team with your neighboring teacher. Yes...I bought all of the black fabric. But the good news is that Hobby Lobby gives 40% off. It took ALL DAY to cover that wall. My daughter helped me with the border thank goodness!
Yes...more bulletin board space and more fabric! I'm lucky enough to have 5 computers this year so I created an area for those that I think looks pretty darn cute. I hate to see computer cords so I cover my tables with fabric. I know that some schools are not allowed to do that because of fire code but for now our county lets us. I've done it for years, and I love that it hides the cords.
Want to see the cords before I did this? You'll have to sit down for this picture.
This next area isn't quite finished, but it's getting there. I usually put border around my white board. I'll do that and post later.
I love this part of my room! It's my little nook. Yes...more fabric... I like to store and hide things. The table will be used for my docucam and laptop once school starts. I think my Inspiration Wall will probably go here to jazz it up.
