Mental Math Madness
As promised a few weeks ago, I finally finished my Mental Math game and just posted it to TpT. You can still grab a freebie for this one but only from my blog. Yay! I'm so excited and can't wait to use it myself when I return to school next week. I made this with direction to be played as a game, but honestly you could do all kinds of things with it. There are 3 levels of cards which are color coded green, yellow, and then red. Red would be the most challenging cards. The easiest of the cards would be green. I tried to created problems that encouraged students to count forwards or backwards by 10 and 100. To increase the difficulty, the cards also involve multiplication, division, and estimation.
I plan to introduce these cards whole group and project the spinner board using my docucam. Each morning I will have a student spin and we will solve the problem that corresponds to the color landed on. I think doing this will help them to be more independent when playing the game in groups. I've been doing mental math all year, making up the problems in my head and writing them on sticky notes...which of course I would lose. Now I have no excuse right? Enjoy the freebie and I hope you take a peek at the full product. :) Enjoy.
If you get the error from Google Docs, just click download and open. It was giving me fits earlier and this seemed to work. I will keep checking back to make sure you can get your freebie. :)
