Classroom Craziness Set Up Day 3

Classroom Set Up Day 3...

Well, I made it back up to my room. I think I am surrounded by Angels because my 3 kids were awesome today! Today my focus was putting some fabric skirts around a couple of more tables, putting up my Daily 5 title, and getting my display started outside my classroom. You'll see a few Pinterest ideas I borrowed too.  I need to really stay of of Pinterest....I keep finding all this great stuff and then have to rush off and buy it.  Enjoy the pics for day 3.

So I had go out and buy more fabric. I chose blue because the blue polka dots in my border. The ribbon is pink with green polka dots. This is going to be my assessment table. I'll hid all my goodies under it for easy access.

This is my agenda board. Our school purchases agendas for every student in grades 3-5. Each section will be the exact subjects in the exact order of their agenda page. Class assignments are written in pencil in their agendas and homework is written in pen.  Reminders are written also in pen. Look at the example below. This student is in Special Education Inclusion 3rd Grade. They really can do this! It helps not only with organization, but the anticipation of what is coming up that day.

I finally put up my Daily 5 Title..I love these cute letters that match the border.

This is the beginning of my outside wall display for Sneak -a- Peek. I'll put their names on the cards and during the year hang their work. This will stay up all year. I've changed wall displays many times when I first starting teaching and found it overwhelming! The only thing that changes is the students' work. I need to make a cutesy title or something, but I'm almost there. :)

I found this cute chalkboard flower pot at Hobby Lobby for 50% off! I loved it. This is going to be where we write where we are when we leave the classroom.....PE, MUSIC, ART, LIBRARY...You get the idea.

Another great find at Hobby Lobby for 50% off.  I love Owls!!

I saw an idea on Pinterest about Smart Beads. I jumped right on that cute idea. When a student answers a really tough question or they just say something that is like "WOW"...they get one of these to wear the rest of the day.  It can even be for students that you see meeting a goal they have been struggling with. We'll see if they play with them or just wear them.....I'll give it a shot. At the end of the day they will turn them in for class $$ that they can later use in my Class Coupon Store.

You didn't think I'd leave without some sort of mess right? Awe....I just threw it behind my desk. It'll have to wait. :)

More to come tomorrow with oganization. I have to clean out under my cabinets....I don't think I was so organized in packing things up so it might be scary. HA! Stay tuned.

  1. Hi Pam:
I have that same border! (And the same letters--but I never seem to get them on the board...)
It looks like you are making great progress in your classroom. Thanks for sharing the pictures--It's motivating me to start thinking...

  2. Kim, I love that border and just found it the other day at School Box! Thanks for stopping by and God Bless you for teaching 6th grade. My daughter is going into 6th....Eeeeek. She's so excited though.

  3. Everything looks great! I like how you set up your agenda board. :)

  4. Your classroom is looking awesome. Thank you for sharing. I've gotten a few ideas from your pictures.

  5. Hobby Lobby is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  6. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas. I especially like the tags and clips to hang student work. How do you get them to stay on the wall for the entire year? Thank you.

  7. I love reading all the great comments! Isabel....I put a dab of low temp hot glue on the tags and clips to keep them up. As long as you put just a little it won't damage the pulls right off.

  8. Love your agenda board. I have also enjoyed watching you put your room together. Can't wait to get in to do mine.

  9. Thank you for sharing how you get them to stick. Guess I will have to invest in a low heat glue gun which I'm sure will come in handy. I teach at a small preschool and we, the teachers, had to paint the hallways last summmer. It was a lot of work and now we are doing two classrooms a summer. I would hate to ruin our hard work by using the wrong glue gun. Happy summer days--they are flying by too fast for me:-)

  10. Looking Great! I need to get started!! oh my!!

  11. I am in the beginning stages of setting up my classroom. I found your blog at the right time :)
I like the idea of displaying students' work outside the class. I always felt like putting it inside was too much.
BTW...what state are you from? The agendas and beads make me think Louisiana??

    I am your newest follower.

  12. I love your border and letters on your agenda board! Where did you find them? What brand are they, it matches my room perfectly.
